Summer can be overwhelming for parents AND preschoolers. The change in routine can turn a normally independent and engaged toddler into a bored and emotionally needy child. Providing enough creative and educational stimulation can seem daunting.

http://www.notimeforflashcards.com/2010/07/paper-plate-crafts.html is a blog with some great examples of Paper Plate crafts, many of which we do here at Treehouse.  As you can see, they are fairly easy and shouldn't require an extra trip to the craft store.
